Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s day bloggers :)  I woke up Saturday morning almost completely refreshed and raring to go!  I had Tivo’d the Olympic Opening Games and decided to finish watching while I ran 3 miles.  Yup, you read it right.  I decided to up my mileage to 3 miles.  Thankfully the first 20 minutes when by before I knew it.  I love watching the parade of nation’s and checking out their outfits.

The last 18 minutes were a little tougher to get through.  I was kinda hoping to stop at 2 miles but charged on through.  It felt good, my muscles were glad to be used again!

The afternoon was slow and I spent a good amount of time making deviled eggs for the CO blogger meet up.  Foodbuzz gave me a coupon for free Eggland’s Best Eggs.  Thought this would be a great time to test them out!

It was so fun meeting bloggers and getting to know each other for real.  Plus there was fantastic food to have!

I will apologize in advance for my low quality pictures…I’m reminded how much more I need to learn about my camera!   The food was really spectacular, I hope one of the other bloggers did it more justice!

The best part of a blogger get together, is that you know you’ll be getting all the recipes to try!

I missed the dessert from Kathleen, but Ashley also made some hot chocolate.  This was so delicious and thick and creamy.  None of us were able to finish, but it was amazing.

Heather made us some homemade jelly as party favors.

So fun!  It was great to meet all these ladies, and get together to try out each other’s recipes.  Can’t wait for the next meet up!

We’re being pretty low key for Valentine’s day.  What are you guys doing today?  Do you have tomorrow off?

IMG_1527 Now for a recap from Saturday!  Jody and I had a great time being tourists around Denver.  We started the day with a drive up Lookout Mountain.  Dan and his teammates ride up this mountain for practice.  Yikes! I was nervous driving up in my car!

IMG_1539

It was fun to see how excited she was to be up close and personal to mountains!  Look at how smoggy it is over Denver!  Do I breathe that in all day?

Jody always makes friends wherever she goes, and this trip was no different.

IMG_1555 It was a perfect day to be out, beautiful snow on the ground and it felt like it was 60 degrees!

We headed straight to the Coors factory when we got back down the mountain.

The Coors Brewery has free tours daily (only one per day though!)  The tour includes a view inside the actual brewery.

A free taste of Coors (did you actually know it is called Coors Banquet) or Coors Light.

IMG_1581 At the end of the tour, everyone over 21 gets three free beers.  We only had two since we had to get Jody to the airport :(

They tried to sell us this picture for $20.  Ouch!  Too rich for my blood!  It was a nice pic. so we took pictures of it.

It’s so fun to be a tourist in my own town.  Now Jody is gone. Boo.  Hope you come back soon Jody!

Blogger Meet-Up!

Today I had a chance to meet up with Coley to bring her the Mix 1 she won!  (if you haven't checked her out yet, go to her website now, she's super awesome!)

She is the first blogger that I've met in person! It was really fun to get together and made me look forward to Cleveland!  (being a Pittsburgh native, I NEVER thought I would say that!)
So, I'm not good at the self portraits!  But, this marks my first picture on my blog! Hello world this is what a look like! (I'm the one on the left that is partially cut off).  Nice to meet you Coley!

Today has been a blueberry heavy day...For breakfast hubby made us pancakes! I added Chia seeds, blueberries and agave.
I was worried that the chia would ruin the taste of the pancakes, but this was the most delicious combo!
The Chic Life is having a weekly food challenge with Chia Seeds, it's great to add these to everything.  My lunch was leftovers from thursday night. Chicken and mushrooms
I also had a side of trail mix.
I was still a little peckish so I made some blueberries with 1 tbsp heavy whipping cream, chia seeds and agave.
This is so tasty!  Great textures as well.  All of these chia seeds have gotten me to 26 g fiber.  Sweet!  As a nice surprise our friends in Vail called us up and invited us over, I'll post about it tomorrow!  Don't forget about the giveaway!
